Salon Lighting By Eco-Lite Products Cuts Electric Bill in Half

Green is the new black when it comes to salon lighting.  Tappan NY based Eco-Lite Products has been the focus of much attention since participating in an episode of “Wa$ted!” on the Planet Green TV network.  Eco-Lite products manufacture Minardi Color Perfect Lighting systems for the salon industry.  The company was thrust into the national spotlight when it helped Selah Salon Lounge in Rockland County go green with their exclusive eco-friendly lighting systems.  The makeover was featured on the Planet Green TV network.

Lohud.com reported on the story and announced that the energy efficient salon lighting installed in Selah Salon Lounge had helped the business cut their electric bill in half.  According to the published article, a year ago, the monthly electric bill at Selah Salon Lounge was $1,275. This June, it was just $574.

Eco-Lite products co-presidents, Howard Gurock and Jeff Gasman, set out to accomplish two goals when creating an energy efficient lighting system for salons: conserve energy and create a natural light for examining skin tone and hair color.  The system quickly took the industry by storm and won the International Beauty Industry Innovator Award at the 2009 America’s Beauty Show in March in Chicago.

Selah Salon Lounge reports that not only do the new lights save nearly 50% on their electric bill, Eco-Lite’s energy-efficient lighting also represents hair color more accurately. (Mark Vergari/The Journal News)
